Ford Pro and Xcel Energy announced a partnership to deploy 30,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports across the U.S. by 2023.
Ford Motor’s commercial division, Ford Pro, and clean energy leader, Xcel Energy also announced the launch of the 30×30 initiative under the Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure (EVSI) program. It aims to increase EV sales and charging access for businesses.
Xcel Energy will install the charging infrastructure for business customers who qualify for and enroll in an approved EVSI program in the customer’s service location. Ford Pro will provide Ford Pro Charging equipment and post-installation customer service and support.

We’re honored to work with Xcel Energy—together we’re creating a new model to help eliminate barriers for businesses in their electrification journey.” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO in a press release.
The new 30×30 will take off via Xcel Energy’s EVSI program in Colorado and Wisconsin starting next year. Both partners also planned an expansion in other states over the next six years.
Xcel Energy says it is looking for regulatory approval in Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Texas.
The offering for the business fleet also includes smart charging software and connected solutions such as Ford Pro Telematics. It could help to increase uptime and potentially lower operational costs by allowing businesses to access data from both vehicles and chargers.
