Ford has paused the shipments of all 2024 F-150 Lightning due to a battery issue found in this electric vehicle (EV). Here’s what’s happening with the Ford F-150 Lightning:

What’s the issue:
The issue has not been shared by the company but information from MotorAutority reveals that it is related to the battery pack.
Ford already called for a stop in production and shipments for two weeks now. A spokeswoman Emma Bergg said that the company is investigating the problem which was found during the pre-delivery quality checks.
The latest stop-build and in-transit stop-ship order has been passed after an F-150 Lightning caught fire outside the Dearborn plant during quality inspections. Ford on the other hand has not reported any injuries to workers or F-150 Lightning due to such issues.
Investigation:
This battery issue is currently limited to Ford F-150 Lightning confirms Bergg and the root cause has been identified. It wants to further expand the investigation which was set to conclude by this week.
The findings from this investigation will be applied to affected Lightning models. It may take weeks before the company can resume shipments which currently has no specific date.
To be mentioned, models that are already sent to dealers are shipment-ready and scheduled for sale.
Reduction in Production:
Ford last month said to cut F-150 Lightning production for “optimal balance of production, sales growth, and profitability”. This production will relocate 1,400 employees at Rogue Vehicle Center starting April 1, 2024. The company also adjusted prices of the model within last week.
