BMW offering $1,000 for Tesla, Rivian, Porsche owners to switch brands

German carmaker BMW has opened a new promotion campaign to allure buyers for its electric vehicles (EV) in the U.S. by offering $1,000 incentives to switch brands.

BMW has recently released a new guidance for dealers and launched the “BMW 2024 BEV Conquest Program”. It provides $1,000 to EV owners from other brands including Tesla, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Porsche, Rivian, and Lucid to switch to a new BMW EV.

This new program also covers Ford Mustang and Volkswagen ID.4 EVs. There is information on certain models such as the Audi e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQB, EQE, and EQS as well as the Porsche Taycan.

BMW has announced no official details from its social media handles about this offer but its availability is likely to be limited to some western states through March 31, 2024. A memo to the dealer mentioned that new BMW buyers don’t need to trade in their vehicles to receive the $1,000 incentive.

Moreover, this incentive can be used in combination with other offers such as the $7,500 Federal tax credit.

The automaker has a $7,500 lease credit for the 2024 BMW i4 and the new offer could take it $8,500. BMW iX is available with a leasing credit of $9,900 and with this addition, it could go up to $10,900.

This 2024 BMW Conquest Campaign could get some interest from EV buyers but the company still has huge price tags on electric vehicles. Its competitors on the other hand have more customer-friendly options so BMW may need to bring some more on the table to make this offer more effective.
