Tesla launches new Model Y Long Range RWD in the US

Tesla has launched a more affordable version of new Model Y – Long Range Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) in the US, amid speculations of a delay in its production for months.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker has introduced this model at $44,990, and it’s eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit, reducing the price to $37,490. Compared to this, the existing Model Y Long Range All Wheel Drive is listed for $48,990 and after federal tax credit, it goes slashes price to $41,490.

A few days ago, Tesla launched 1.99% APR on the new Model Y LR AWD, but this financial rate is not available for the cheaper variant, instead, customers will have to choose 5.49% APR.

Looking at the statics, RWD long range offers 357 miles of EPA estimated range, 0-60mph acceleration in 5.4 seconds, 182 miles range charging in 15 minutes. Similar to its other versions, the vehicle will offer new upgrades, including a facelift featuring lightbar. It does include a front camera for wider range of front visibility.

The rear side of the vehicle also has a cross-car lamp with reflective lighting. Inside the phone, Tesla has upgraded the first row with power recline, heating and ventilation. The second row comes with power tow-way folding using a one-push button and heating.

The audio system is upgraded to 15 speakers and 1 subwoofer. It has a 15.4-inch front-touch screen and a separate 8-inch second row screen for passengers. Furthermore, ambient lighting is installed in the car for a better experience.

Talking about the configurations, stealth gray is included in the purchase package and there are two wheel options – 19-inch crossflow wheels and 20-inch helix 2.0 wheels. It has two interiors all black and black and white, the second one is paid for $1,000 extra.

Customers can add $8,000 one-time purchase FSD package with the car or subscribe for $99 per month. Currently, Tesla is showing no details about the delivery date on the order page.
