Tesla has released a new app update for its mobile app on the iOS platform, and code decompilcation has revealed a ton of robotaxi features.

The key strings in the latest app update has mentioned “alicorn”, which could be the codename of the robotaxi project with the following description.

“An alicorn is a mythical creature, specifically a winged unicorn, or a creature that combines the features of a unicorn and a Pegasus. It’s a common trope in fantasy literature and art, often portrayed as a powerful and magical being”.

The app code then mentioned several strings about robotaxi features and on-screen messages, including:

  • Adjust pickup
  • Confirm pickup
  • Trip aborted
  • Edit message
  • Enter destination
  • Arriving 0 minutes
  • Live
  • Dispatch pickup
  • Pull over confirmation
  • Edit stops
  • Close trunk
  • Cancel reason
  • How is ride
  • Fasten seatbelt
  • Cancel reason car not moving
  • Cancel pickup, book another ride
  • Trip summary screen
  • Service area title
  • Start emergency help request

As mentioned above, some of these strings are related to the messages that the robotaxi will show to the user while starting or organizing a ride.

Tesla is planning to launch Robotaxi services in June this year, starting in Austin, Texas, and an expansion is planned for other states.
