xAI Founder shares an update on Grok 3.5 release delay
Elon Musk, founder and CEO of xAI, has shared an update on Grok 3.5 model launch, confirming another week of delay in unveiling. The AI company was expected to release this model by this week, but Musk clarified that it requires more work.
“3.5 is still too rough around the edges. Needs another week or so” Musk wrote on X while responding to a question about the 3.5 release date.
It appears that the final tuning is taking time, and we’ve to wait for some time to find out more about Grok 3.5 as Musk refrained from giving any specific launch date this time.
Grok is a large language model (LLM) designed and developed by xAI. The AI bot was first integrated to X (formerly Twitter) in December 2023 for premium subscribers.

However, it’s now available for free (with limitations) and on standalone Grok website, as well as mobile apps on iOS and Android platforms. So far, Grok has seen three major upgrades – Grok 1.5, Grok 2 and Grok 3, contributing new features and improved reasoning for better responses.
With these updates, xAI has released features such as web search, Grok studio for real-time code execution, web-based game development, file analysis capability, PDF creation, memory, image generation with Aurora model, image transformation and more.
Meanwhile, Grok 3.5 is poised to improve the conversation with authentic and easy to understand replies. Before providing this update, Musk also said that the Grok 3.5 will give answers that aren’t available on the internet. That seems a major milestone in Grok’s version upgrade, and we’ll have to wait for actual release to see this in action.
