NASA, SpaceX changes Axiom Mission 4, Crew-11, 33rd Resupply mission dates

NASA, SpaceX, and mission partners have changed the launch date for Axiom Mission 4, SpaceX Crew-11 and 33rd Commercial Resupply Services mission after reviewing the International Space Station flight schedule.

According to the information, Axiom Mission 4 is now targeting 9:11 a.m. EDT, Sunday, June 8. The SpaceX Crew-11 is targeting for late July and the 33rd commercial resupply mission likely to launch in late August.

Axiom Mission 4

This mission will lift off on a Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The crew includes Peggy Whitson, former NASA astronaut and director of human spaceflight at Axiom Space, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, ESA (European Space Agency) project astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski of Poland, and Tibor Kapu of Hungary.

These astronauts will work in tandem with the Expedition 73 crew aboard the International Space Station for a short duration to conduct science experiments and commercial activities.

Crew 11

Falcon 9 will lift off this Crew-11 from Launch Complex 39A and the Dragon spacecraft will host four astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov. The crew will hand over with the agency’s SpaceX Crew-10 crew before taking the responsibilities at the station.

Resupply Mission

The 33rd Commercial Resupply Mission will from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. SpaceX Falcon 9 with Dragon spacecraft with carry science experiments, supplies, and hardware to the space station. Dragon will also use reboost kit to support propulsive boosts to maintain the space station’s altitude. This addition will reduce Russian segment propellant use on the space station to maintain reserve levels.
