xAI Grok 3.5: Release Date and Features
Grok is available for users across the world, and its version 3.5 is on the horizon, but xAI developers haven’t shared a release date for this new chatbot version. Meanwhile, we have compiled some information that you may like to know about Grok 3.5.
This chatbot has evolved since its initial announcement in December 2023, adding a ton of new features, including:

- Standalone mobile app for Android and iOS

- Voice conversation

- Image analysis
- DeepSearch, DeeperSearch, and Think modes

- Third-party service integration, including Google Cloud and Microsoft’s OneDrive
- Workspaces for a personalized chat experience
These are some of the key features, besides other tiny improvements to facilitate a better user experience. However, xAI is planning a bigger upgrade in the reasoning.
One of the biggest things we’ve heard of is “reasoning from first principles”. Elon Musk, founder of xAI, has been focused on this key phrase for Grok 3.5 for the past two months.
This new capability no longer relies on pre-existing models or incremental improvements; it will simply analyze the problem or a question and provide the most relevant answers. With this upgrade, the chatbot will be able to break down complex problems into their fundamental forms or provide information at a very basic level.
In a more technological term, Grok 3.5 could deconstruct queries into elemental parts, evaluate them separately, and synthesize answers without leaning heavily on pattern-based learning or external data biases.
“It is the first AI that can, for example, accurately answer technical questions about rocket engines or electrochemistry,” Musk said about Grok 3.5.

Release date
Grok 3.5 release date is currently a mystery for users because xAI hasn’t shared an official launch date. In late April, Musk said that the Grok 3.5 early beta release will be available for SuperGrok subscribers.
In the following month, the xAI founder confirmed the delay due to unfinished model tuning. As of June 12, 2025, we’re still waiting for more information on this matter.
