Tesla has officially launched the Robotaxi service in Austin and revealed the first look at the dedicated app that allows users to order their ride to land anywhere autonomously.

X users @teslapodcast and @sawyermerritt are invited to test the new Robotaxi ride-hailing service in Austin and shared how the app features really work. Its UI contains a geofenced map, since it is a limited ride-hailing area.

The app offers a search bar for destination and currently shows a $4.20 flat fee notification. You will also see bookmarks for certain types of locations, including Cafe, Food, and others.

Users can select the destination and start the ride. After that, the app will show the estimated time of arrival of the vehicle on the screen on a map.

The robotaxi app has options for climate control, calling support, pull over, music controls, and changing the volume of the Tesla vehicle. It is designed to integrate existing Tesla user data and fetch information such as user data, including payment details. However, users will have options to change these settings separately.

Users have the option to provide feedback about a ride or tip the service when they reach the destination.

Tesla is currently operating the robotaxi service on an invite-only basis, and a wider rollout will come later. For your information, this app is not available on the App Store.
