Tesla developers are testing the Grok app for its electric vehicles (EVs) behind the scenes, but the first look at its dedicated features and user interface has now leaked online.

Well-known leaker @greenthonly has shared an early look at the Grok app from a recent firmware exploration and posted some screenshots that show the app in action.

It is revealed that the Grok app will be available along with other installed apps, but as a native integration through a firmware update. It requires an active internet connection; users will need to connect to a Wi-Fi or upgrade to premium connectivity to access AI services onboard.

The deep integration allows Grok to run in the background and grab only a small space on the screen. Users can connect their Grok account to Tesla by scanning a QR code from an existing device.

Once logged in, the Grok window will appear on the bottom side of the center screen. It will have greetings, a microphone button to speak with the AI. The leaked version shows three voices – Ara (female), Rex (male), and Grok.

Users can also change personas similar to the web version with the on-screen button, enabling different tones in replies based on the labeled personalities. A settings button will offer switches to enable/disable NFSW and Kids modes or sign out of the account.

The Grok app features for Tesla have been spotted in firmware version 2025.14 with minor updates in 2025.20 for the AMD model, while confirmation about Intel is still pending. The Grok summon currently works with a virtual button, but a voice wakeup feature is also in the code.

It’s confirmed that the code and features are ready for final rollout, but it’s up to Tesla to decide a release date.
