Tesla has released a new Robotaxi app update for testers, and a new addition will let users adjust the pickup location. This feature was requested after initial rides and was introduced with version 25.7.0 via TestFlight for iOS.

On June 22, Tesla announced the official launch of Robotaxi in Austin, Texas. However, the first rides were limited to invitations, which the company began sending a few days before the official robotaxi rollout.

Early users confirmed that new Model Ys are deployed with Unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) to autonomously drive on the road. Users are provided with exclusive access to the early development build of the Robotaxi app to book a ride.

This app lets them select the area of transportation in a geofenced area in Austin. Users can check the estimated time of arrival before hitting the book button.

Once booked, a vehicle will be assigned to the customer and will show the live navigation route on the map. The app initially chose a pre-determined pickup spot around the location. However, this update makes it a bit user-friendly, who can select between pinpoint locations that are also predefined, but brings more flexibility over the automatic selection.

Tesla Robotaxi tester @joetegteyer has published a video demonstration of the adjust pickup location feature to give a demonstration.

This app version also displays the remaining wait time at pickup in the app and Live Activity, so keep the user updated with the arrival. Furthermore, new improvements for the app UI design and bug fixes have been applied for a better and stable user experience.

Tesla is actively sending new invitations to selected people from across social media and industry, but wider access to the public may take some time. The key reason for this invite-only access is to ensure road safety and to take feedback to prepare for public release.
