Grok 4 is set to release tomorrow

Grok 4 is prepared as a major model update, and xAI has announced that this release is happening on Wednesday, July 9th. The live stream of this model unveiling will start at 8 PM PT.

Earlier this year, xAI released the Grok 3 model family, its most advanced AI model to date. It has new reasoning prowess over the Grok version 2 lineup and is trained on 200,000 Nvidia GPUs. Despite being one of the most powerful Grok models, it is also facing the most common AI chatbot problem: sharing information from the internet.

This issue has been created by the foundational mechanism of compiling answers to users’ queries. For example, if a user asks the model to give details about Trump’s decision to end the EV tax credit, it might rely only on a few popular articles to form an answer, thus sharing information based on opinions or biases rather than fact-based findings.

The new version is aiming to cut through this major issue and bring cross-verified and multi-sourced answers, including from the X platform.

To apply a resolution, xAI developers aim to strengthen the reasoning from first principles, which prioritizes the topic’s breakdown and creates an answer that covers fundamentals rather than including complicated opinions from the web.

On the other hand, the Grok 4 series will bring a specialized coding model, providing a dedicated environment for developers and programmers to unleash their creative mindset and get more done in less time.

AI-generated coding feature is already available in Grok 3 via Grok Studio. You can generate web pages, write programs, and create games, with a run-time testing console. However, the Grok 4 code is likely to take things far ahead of what we currently have.

The AI company may also have some new Grok 4 features and improvements that will release altogether tomorrow.
