Grok Broke

AI firm xAI is set to reinvent Grok chatbot with the version 4 update, before that, the model broke out and throwing incorrect information with insane behavior.

Many users on the X social media platform noticed that the Grok was posting text content praising nazi leader Hitler. The AI also spotted pushing such content on posts unprompted and also blamed Jews for spreading “anti-white hate” in a similar manner.

These replies appeared via the ask Grok feature, where a user tags Grok in the post or comment to get its answers on a topic/question. On the other hand, the main Grok account also posted similar cryptic messages.

Soon after, the xAI team acknowledged the issue and temporarily disabled Ask Grok prompts, stopping the chatbot from replying any further. This move was followed by an official statement “We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts. Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X”

The company confirmed that the problem has been found and fixed.

Input from TechDevNotes reveals that a one-line code from the Grok’s system prompt file has been removed, which allows incorrect political information sharing. Now, the ask Grok feature is working as good as possible.

Grok 4

It’s not the first time Grok has shown an out-of-control streak, as similar activity was noticed last month.

Importantly, xAI founder and CEO, Elon Musk, also criticized Grok, calling it a “dumb AI”. However, that was for the reasoning part. He also wrote “Shame on you, Grok” in a separate reply.

Musk also promised to fix this massive issue within Grok, replies with a new training and reasoning system with Grok 4 version release.
