Video generation feature for Grok is coming: xAI
xAI has officially announced that Grok 4 will get the video generation feature later this year, and the team has already started working on the model, followed by the training.
This announcement comes at the Grok 4 introduction live stream on X, where Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of the company said that this will be the most powerful upgrade in Grok’s development journey.
A roadmap shared by xAI confirms that the video generation model is coming to Grok family in October. However, the release could be adjusted based on training and final preparations.

Musk said that Grok will start training for video generation in three to four weeks using the 100,000 Nvidia GB200. This GPU is using Blackwell architecture, designed for high-performance AI training and computing. It is four times faster than the H100, which is already employed at Memphis Supercomputer facility.
Specifically, Musk mentioned that the model will be able to generate thirty minutes AI video from this year and an hour-long video from next year. In addition to creating videos, the new model will also be able to understand video content.
The company will integrate this capability to the X platform, so users will be able to not only watch these AI videos but also able to edit these videos to create a remix or mashup of their own.
