xAI launching Moon female Grok companion to rival Ani?

xAI is working on new improvements for Grok features, but a new rumor has surfaced, suggesting that the company is working on a new companion named Moon, and she will be available for Tesla vehicles.

Earlier today, Tesla’s Vehicle Service team member Chris’s X account posted a video, showing a Tesla’s front display with an animated 3D character, something that can be compared to the existing Grok companion.

The video was posted with the caption “A friend is coming to your Tesla soon! @M” and the account mentioned in the caption is associated with xAI but has no information.

What’s interesting is that the post was deleted soon after it appeared in public. The same goes for the comments, in which Chris said he had confirmed with Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and xAI, before posting this video of the new companion on social media.

However, Musk later came up with a clarification, saying that this news is not true. It means the company has no plans of launching companions for Tesla vehicles, at least from what we can make from this reply.

Coming to the video, the female avatar can be aligned with the Ani companion, except with a new facial structure, bright skin tone, long hairstyle, and a brand new dress.

The animation also feels real, but could be created manually. It’s also possible that Chris’s account may have been compromised, and the person shared this video to goof around. However, Chris has not published any clarification on this matter as of now.

To be honest, the character design looks very good, and it could be a perfect rival to take away Ani’s followers in a close AI charm contest.

Companions are AI-powered 3d animated characters designed to interact with users via Grok’s AI voice model. These have interactive animations and are available to use on Grok’s iPhone app.
