Tesla has released Full Self Driving (FSD) v14.1.2 software update for users with the Mad Max speed profile, improving the user experience for those who want some extra autonomous driving fun. This is the third FSD software release in the past two weeks after the initial rollout of FSD v14.1, which was followed by FSD v14.1.1.

The new Mad Max profile brings higher speeds and more frequent lane changes than Hurry mode. X user @SawyerMerritt has shared his first experience with this profile enabled and confirmed that it works similarly to the changelog. However, it’s more confident in turns and corners. Moreover, FSD v14.1.2 also drives better than the previous version, which might be due to some bug fixes applied to the past software build.

Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla AI leader, said that the Mad Max mode is capable of showing an even more confident ride during the day and in denser traffic.

Besides this, FSD currently offers three other speed profiles, which decide the appropriate speed based on a mix of driver profile, speed limit, and surrounding traffic. That includes SLOTH, another new addition, which comes with lower speeds and more conservative lane selection than Chill mode.

Users can use the right scroll-wheel up/down to adjust speed profile settings rather than precise max speed offset selection in mph/kph. The latest update has been released for AI4 Model Ys, and it will expand gradually across all users.
