xAI CEO Elon Musk said Grokipedia v0.1 releasing next week
xAI Founder and CEO, Elon Musk, said Grokipedia is launching as soon as next week, intensifying his course collision against Wikipedia.
Musk said an early version of the Grokipedia v0.1 will be released on Monday, since such a program may get some additional improvement through the last minute of public deployment, but the model has a fair chance of seeing this feature on time or by next week.
He also mentioned that this version will be buggy, which indicates the complicated behavior of the information that the responses will contain. However, recent information shows that the company has been preparing for this major upgrade for quite some time.
For example, Grok’s detailed responses now show images within the responses, which looks better than text only response in fast mode.
Despite calling it a buggy release, the xAI chief announced that this early Grokipedia version is better on average than Wikipedia. The aim here is to take user feedback and improve the feature with future releases.
The idea behind Grokipedia is a result of Musk’s criticism of Wikipedia, which he labeled as a “far-left” biased platform. On the other hand, xAI’s Grok is claimed to be designed as a “maximum truth-seeking AI”, and it intends to create a new encyclopedia that prioritizes evidence-based, unbiased information, which reduces human-based editorial influence to modify the content.
