Tesla has announced that its ride-hailing service in the Bay Area now goes to SJC airport, allowing users to get a supervised autonomous ride.

Ride-hailing service in the Bay Area is different from Austin. Instead of deploying fully autonomous Full Self Driving (FSD) vehicles, Tesla employed a supervised FSD in Model Ys with a person to obey the Supervised FSD rules, such as monitoring the road and watching the car’s maneuvers.

Users are allowed to take a ride with the Robotaxi app, the same as in Austin, inside a geofenced area. The charges will be deducted from their connected payment system.

That said, Tesla Robotaxi app is now showing the San Jose Mineta International Airport location, a city-owned public airport in San Jose, California, located 3 miles northwest of Downtown San Jose, a critical destination that serves both the city and the Santa Clara Valley region of the greater Bay Area.
