Tesla will soon allow users to gift FSD subscription
Tesla will soon allow vehicle owners to gift a Full Self Driving (FSD) subscription to other people, raising awareness of this self-driving tech a family or friends.
Raj Jegannathan from the Tesla team has confirmed that this new feature launch will be ready before the holidays. That means it may drop somewhere this month.
This discussion was first initiated by Tesla enthusiast Sawyer Merritt via an X post. He suggested an idea allowing owners in North America to pay and gift a monthly FSD subscription to other owners. He also added another suggestion that these FSD subscription gifts could be for 1 month, quarter, or half a year.
Besides confirming this new move, the Tesla employee hasn’t spilled anything on such subscription gift tiers.
FSD Supervised enables Tesla vehicles to autonomously drive on public roads while keeping a watch on objects, road signs, traffic signals, and pedestrians. However, the supervised version requires a driver to be available and monitor the car’s movements and take control when needed.
Tesla offers FSD supervised at $99 per month; users can purchase a subscription from the Tesla app. Enter Upgrades, Software Upgrade, tap the checkbox next to Full Self-Driving (Supervised), and tap Subscribe. The app also allows you to cancel your subscription at any time.
