Razer launches Project AVA AI companion powered by xAI Grok

Razer has launched Project AVA, a 24/7 AI companion to facilitate users with a 3D hologram personality powered by the xAI Grok AI model.

Razer is calling this device an AI desk companion due to its standalone hardware design featuring AI 3D avatars. The device shows an animated hologram inside a round speaker-like device with contextual awareness hardware.

It has dual far-field array mics to listen to the user and respond with built-in speakers. The device equips an HD camera with an ambient light sensor the see the user and track gestures. The avatar will show up on a 5.5-inch holobox display.

Users can adjust the volume and power up/shut down the device with buttons on top of the device. Furthermore, Razer Project AVA comes with a USB-C data and power delivery port.

This desk companion can be your daily planner to manage your schedule, select your wardrobe, or plan a dinner. It can track habits, moods, motivate, and create self-care routines. That goes for personal life, but Project AVA also has a work side.

It can conduct a real-time conversation to generate concepts, improve the current project, and generate new project ideas. Furthermore, it can analyze documents, spreadsheets, and summarize key information. That’s not it; the device can provide real-time voice and text translation.

For gamers, the 3D hologram companion will work as a real-time strategy coach and celebrate your success.

Avatars

Razer Project Ava is currently promoting five avatars:

• AVA – This is a pure AI form with a greenish Razar logo inside
• KIRA – A female companion like Ani with a supportive and sharp linguistic tone.
• ZANE – A male animated avatar designed for strategy speed, and shows cool behavior
• FAKER – A legendary South Korean professional League of Legends player for Team T1
• SAO – Animated avatar of SAO, real name Saori Araki, is a Japanese office worker who went unexpectedly viral in July 2025 for a photo of herself in a business suit with her cheeks slightly puffed out.

You should know that these 3D avatars are designed by Animation Inc., which also designed Ani, Mika, and other Grok companions.

Razer Project AVA price

This 3D Hologram companion will launch in the second half of this year. Customers in the US can make a unit reservation at Razer’s official website with a $20 deposit (refundable). Once secured, this deposit will be credited to the final purchase price.
