Y Combinator AI Student Starter Pack

Y Combinator (YC), a leading startup accelerator, has launched the YC AI Student Starter Pack. This initiative provides university students with free access to advanced AI tools and credits. The program partners with nearly two dozen companies to reduce the financial burden for students exploring AI development.

The core focus of this pack is to provide AI resources. The pack offers over $20,000 in cloud credits from Azure and AWS. These credits support running large-scale AI models and training experiments. Students also receive more than $5,000 in credits for leading language models, including GPT, Claude, and Grok. This direct access allows testing of cutting-edge generative AI without personal costs.

The pack includes credits for specialized AI devtools, covering areas such as voice synthesis, browser automation, web search, video generation, databases, and web crawling. Many tools come from YC-backed companies, 14 in total, such as Firecrawl for data extraction, Exa for advanced search, Vapi for voice assistants, Browser Use for automation, Reducto for document processing, and Gumloop for workflow building.

These resources enable practical AI projects. Students can build a market research tool combining Firecrawl and Exa, create a voice assistant with Vapi and Browser Use, or develop a legal aide using Reducto and Gumloop. The pack encourages hands-on experimentation with real-world AI applications.

Students attending YC university events starting in Fall 2025 will be eligible to claim this offer. After the event, they will receive an email with redemption instructions. YC plans to expand access to more students in the coming year.

This program lowers entry barriers in the fast-evolving AI field. By providing free tools and credits, YC helps students prototype ideas, learn AI workflows, and potentially launch startups. It reflects YC’s commitment to fostering innovation among young builders.

For students passionate about AI, this starter pack offers a valuable opportunity to turn concepts into working prototypes. It equips the next generation with professional-grade resources to compete in AI development.
