Grok navigation commands launched for Tesla vehicles in Australia and New Zealand

Tesla drivers across Australia and New Zealand can now access Grok AI navigation commands right from their vehicles. The feature rollout is now active with an over-the-air software update. Once installed, users can speak naturally to Grok for real-time answers on almost any topic or to manage navigation hands-free.

Grok listens through the car’s microphone and replies with information. Drivers ask about current events, local recommendations, or general facts, and it delivers instant responses. For navigation, owners can ask the AI to find a spot, add a stop, or change the route.

Grok updates the map, so everyone keeps their focus on the road. People can even choose different voices and personalities to match their preferences. The Grok navigation command is now being tested under beta and will be released in a full version in the near future.

You should know that this update is first available for vehicles with AMD processors. Owners can check their software version in the controls menu and ensure they are on 2026.2.6 or newer. A Premium Connectivity plan or solid Wi-Fi connection keeps everything running smoothly. Meanwhile, users don’t need to create a separate Grok account or pay additional costs.

To start, owners tap the Grok icon in the app launcher on the big touchscreen or simply hold the microphone button on the steering wheel. Choose a preferred personality and begin chatting. Everything processes through xAI while staying anonymous from Tesla’s end. Guests jump right in, or drivers can link their history through their accounts.
