SpaceX has officially confirmed that one of its active Starlink constellation satellites experienced an on-orbit anomaly on Sunday, March 29, 2025. The company mentioned that the satellite serial was 34343, which lost communication at 560km above Earth.

It is also revealed that an investigation is underway to find the root cause of the issue and improve the existing constellation to avoid such an anomaly in the future.

SpaceX also wrote that the satellite poses no risk to the Space Station, its crew, or the upcoming NASA’s Artemis II mission. The rocket maker is also teaming up with NASA and the US Space Force to track the satellite’s leftovers.

Furthermore, the anomaly had no major impact on the Transporter-16 mission, which completed safely with all payloads deployed in their designated orbits.
