SpaceX moves Starship 40 to Massey’s site for pre-launch tests

SpaceX has moved the Starship 40 to the test site to prepare for the Starship Flight Test 13, sometime next month, with new improvements.

Yesterday, the Ship serial number 40 was moved from Mega Bay 2 and was placed at the Massey outpost on the same day. The ship was carried out of the factory through transportation vehicles.

According to @LabPadre, Ship 40 is now standing tall on the test site and ready to verify its launch readiness. It will first load Liquid Oxygen, conduct partial CH4 testing, and then fire the Raptor V3 engine. The company could opt for a single engine or all engines during this test.

However, we’ll have to see how the testing moves from this point forward. These pre-flight tests will verify the rocket’s functions and hardware stability before it gets clearance for the final integration with the Super Heavy booster.

Last month, SpaceX launched the twelfth flight test of the Starship, using the fresh V3 vehicles for the upper and lower stages. This was also the inaugural flight for the launch Pad 2, which is designed to offer more strength and better ground clearance for the rocket.

The rocket completed all of its flight objectives, including the full coasting of the upper stage and then the splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
