Tesla is removing two of the stopping modes from Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles. This new removal is in line with the latest change in the EPA range in Tesla Models in the U.S.

DriveTeslaCanada reports that the Creep and Roll Modes will be removed from all Model 3 and Model Y vehicles after January 1, 2024.

Tesla vehicles come with stopping modes with regenerative braking, which decelerates the vehicle whenever the driver releases the accelerator pedal.

The vehicle offers three stopping modes – Creep, Hold, and Roll. These stopping modes work according to their name and provide different experiences.

It is also revealed that the new changes are being made to help display a more accurate and efficient range estimate to the customer.

However, these modes will remain accessible for the existing Model 3 and Model Y and will not be removed using an over-the-air (OTA) update. For your information, Model S and Model X don’t offer such stopping modes.

Since the “Hold” mode is the most popular among Tesla users, the removal of these stopping modes may not be a big deal.
