X rolls out sleek in-app notifications for iOS, coming soon to Android and web

X, formerly Twitter, is rolling out new in-app notifications with a simplified style that drops down from the center of the screen while you are still using the app. It keeps the user updated with the new notifications as they surf through the timeline.

“It’s pretty easy to get used to UI that hasn’t changed in ~10+ years and just to leave things alone. But that is also how products become stagnant and dated. X is too important a platform to ever let that happen, and that’s why we’ll continue to improve all the tiny things,” said Benji Taylor, the lead at xAI.

Taylor also confirmed that the new notification style is coming to Android and the web soon
