Tesla today shared a video of its new ambient light capability from Upgraded Tesla Model 3 which was recently released in North America. Tesla shares ambient light feature video of Upgraded Model 3.

Ambient lighting is a major upgrade in the 2024 Tesla Model 3 as compared to the past version of this popular electric vehicle (EV). The LED strips have a wraparound design and extend from the front doors to the rear sills. Once enabled, it creates ambient and subtle lighting in the interior.

You will have a pre-set color palette to choose an ambient light including seven preset colors – white, blue, purple, pink, red, orange, and green. The feature also has a color selector to create custom colors.

The feature also brings preferred color settings to different driver profiles. The light also dims at night to provide a relaxing driving experience without any distractions.

Tesla has plans with this ambient lighting setup which could be used for Easter eggs for upcoming features and surprises.

This capability is quite popular among EV buyers and is already available in Tesla rivals. Some of these are BMW iX and i4 with dynamic strips that adapt to driving modes and music with various color combinations.

Mercedes EQC and EQB equip multi-zone strips with projection systems and starry sky headliner options. Ford Mustang Mach-E and Nissan Ariya are also offering strips with customizable illuminated strips for the entire cabin, dashboard, and doors.
