General Motors (GM) has 100,000 reservations and orders for its electric pickup trucks to deliver, says CEO Mary Barra during the Q4 2023 earnings presentation.

Barra revealed that the orders are in place for the Chevrolet Silverado EV, the GMS Sierra EV, and the GMC Hummer PV Pickup and are likely to be delivered through 2024 and 2025.

GM and all of its subseries are launching products to reduce the company’s carbon emission footprint by 2040 and eliminate tailpipe emissions in US light-duty vehicles by 2035.

Despite this commitment, the GM chief has also remarked to return new plug-in hybrids in the U.S. The carmaker is one of the first to participate in the Biden Administration’s increasing EV plans.

Barra said that GM is complying with federal goals to reduce emissions in the face of new “stringent fuel economy and tailpipe emission standards”.
