Full self-driving (FSD) version 12 is getting new software releases and the company now added v12.2.1 for Tesla owners. Similar to previous software, this one is also limited to some of the Tesla employees and a special group of Tesla subscribers.

FSD allows your vehicle to drive itself in certain scenarios but with drivers’ interventions to control where the software leads to uncertainty. It packs capabilities such as Autosteer on city streets and identifies traffic and stop signs to slow down the vehicle when necessary.

The latest FSD is spotted by Teslacope with the 2023.44.30.20 software update. This new rollout comes only after the company seeded version 12.2.

There’s no changelog available in this rollout but there’s a major improvement in the vehicle’s intelligence which now includes end-to-end neural networks. Previous information suggests that Tesla has already jumped away from manually written FSD code.

The FSD v12 only incorporated training data-based intelligence and all of its driving experiences are now unsupervised. This also makes the company to be more cautious with the new FSD version which is only available internally.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla has been anticipating the use of the end-to-end neural networks for quite some time and it’s now applied with the new release. Musk also mentioned that FSD version 12 will rollout soon for the Tesla FSD subscribers during Q4 and 2023 earning call back in January.

However, the program is super closed and only Tesla employees and some known users can access it. He also revealed that the update will cover over 400,000 FSD users in North America when the actual rollout happens.
