U.S. administration may ease up some rules around electric vehicle (EV) adaptation in place of gas-powered vehicles, which has been rigorously promoted by the current government.

A report from the New York Times suggests that the Biden administration is planning to give more time to automakers to ramp up EV production. This new change is currently under discussion and may take up to Spring of 2024 to conclude.

Based on the existing electrification plans, 50% of the new car sales need to be EV by 2030 which is not that much at the time being. The administration also aims to convert all government vehicles to electric by 2027 for light-duty models and 2035 for medium and heavy-duty vehicles

Different automakers are also finding it hard to increase sales in the face of declining EV sales around the globe.
