SpaceX Falcon 9 Booster Landing

SpaceX and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investment and Aviation (MOTIA) have signed an agreement to conduct Falcon rocket landings inside Bahamian territory to boost space tourism.

SpaceX is currently under discussion for mission possibilities on autonomous droneship within Bahamian waters in the east of the Exumas. This location will offer the visitors viewing points for Falcon 9’s first stage landing.

It’s anticipated that the view could be witnessed from cruise ships, resorts, and other tourist hotspots to create a space tourist destination.

The conversation between the two sides involves Aisha Bowe, former NASA rocket scientist and founder & CEO of StemBoard. The agreement was finalized after 15 months of continuous conversation to outline space vehicle operations in Bahamian territory. This year, she will be a part of a space mission and become the first Bahamian astronaut in orbit.

Starlink:

This agreement between SpaceX and Bahamas also includes Starlink services for multiple locations across the Family Island. These terminals will establish connectivity for schools and help first responders to communicate in an emergency.

Starlink is a satellite-powered internet service designed and developed by SpaceX, it doesn’t require a mobile network.
