Tesla will release a software update for Model S/X/3 in China to fix rear camera parking issues as revealed by China’s automotive regulator on Friday.

This software patch will rollout for 1,071 imported Model S and Model X and 7,629 Model 3 Chinese-produced versions. The cause of this regulator-based recall is related to the rear camera system.

This software problem could affect the driver’s field of vision while reversing the vehicle and could lead to a collision with people or any object.

A letter published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mentioned a similar rearview bug on January 23. It may appear in around 200,000 Model S, Model X, and Model Y 2023 versions in the U.S.

However, Tesla will fix them all with just a simple over-the-air (OTA) update release. Some Tesla owners already started receiving the fixes.
