Nissan today announced that its 2024 Nissan LEAF vehicles resumed a $3,750 electric vehicle (EV) Federal tax credit in the U.S. This new subsidy comes with models produced in 2024 and sold in March or after.

Nissan was able to resume these subsidies on the LEAF 2024 model after complying with the battery supply guidelines changed by the IRS last year.

Customers who want to get federal tax credit need to understand that the EV must be bought for personal use and not for resale purposes. The second term is that the vehicle will be used in the U.S.

In addition, the customer’s adjusted gross income should exceed:

There are some restrictions on the battery component supplies after April 18, 2023, and vehicles need to meet the new requirements to qualify for the EV tax credit.

According to the IRS, the automaker can offer $3,750 on a vehicle if it only meets critical minerals requirements. A similar amount will be distributed for vehicles that meet battery component requirements only. A $7,500 full tax credit will go to vehicles that meet both of these requirements simultaneously.

Nissan has been producing the new LEAF and its battery in Smyrna, Tennessee. There’s also a $3,75o incentive to LEAF customers who lease any 2024 or 2023 LEAF.

The Nissan 2024 LEAF S with a 40 kWh battery pack has a starting price of $28,140. The 60 kWh battery version is priced at $36,190. With the federal tax credit, the 40 kWh battery version reduces to $24,390 and the 60 kWh battery version reduces to $32,440.
