SpaceX sends second Falcon 9 mission of the day from California (March 10, 2024)
On March 10, 2024, SpaceX launched its second Falcon 9 mission of the day from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The vehicle maintained a nominal trajectory to deploy fairings after achieving Max Q and Meco. After completing its 17th flight, the first stage landed on a droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

The payload contained 23 Starlink satellites and the company has already deployed 23 Starlinks from the mission that flew from Florida in the evening. That makes up for 46 Starlink satellites from today’s missions.
Starlink Latency:
A few days ago, SpaceX shared progress in achieving less than 20 milliseconds (ms) median frequency for a better internet usage experience.
The company has already improved 30 percent of the current median frequency which takes the latencies from 48.5ms to 33ms during peak hours.
The worst-case peak hour latency is improved by 60 percent from 150ms to 65ms in the U.S. SpaceX says that the latest changes will also reflect on global terminals at 25 percent median and 35 percent worst-case latency.
SpaceX is making new changes in satellite software builds with 193 new versions deployed, 75 gateway software builds, 222 Starlink software builds and 57 WiFi software builds.
