“Thanks to the hard work of the Tesla Giga Berlin team and support from the community, the factory is back online!” Musk posted on X on Wednesday.

Musk’s visit came a week after Tesla’s power supplies were set on fire by a self-claimed far-left group. The plant which is located in the Gruenheide municipality had to stop production last Tuesday to ensure employee safety.

Not only Tesla but the power outage affected thousands of households, nearby hospitals, nursing homes, and a big logistics center for a German grocery chain.

Andre Thierig, Senior Director, of Manufacturing at Giga Berlin shared an update on Monday on the resumption of power supply for the Gaigafactory via Linkedin. However, Theirig said that the full-fledged production may take some time.

“It will certainly take some time until we have fully resumed production, but the most important step has been taken.” Theirig wrote.

Expansion

Giga Berlin has become a tough spot for Tesla in the region because the company wants to expand freight depot, warehouse, and kindergarten. The plan includes more than 100 hectares (247 acres) of forest.

This expansion is also seeing opposition from environmentalists and some local groups. But Tesla is likely to pursue its plans.
