Tesla reduces $2000 on Model Y, S, and X in US

Tesla today has reduced the prices of Model Y, Model S, and Model X in the U.S. by up to $2,000 across all trims listed on the official website. This new price cut comes as the company prepares to report its first-quarter earnings results on April 23.

The latest reduction also shows the ups and downs Tesla keeps on trying to improve sales. For example, the EV maker discounted $1,000 on all Model Y versions in February this year and added $1,000 back on March 1.

Among these three models, the Tesla Model Y gets a $1,000 price down and the Model X/S will see a $2,000 decline in purchase price.

Here is the new price breakdown of these cars:

Tesla Model S:

  • Model S Long Range price reduced to $72,990 (from $74,990)
  • Model S Plaid price reduced to $87,990 (from $89,990)

Tesla Model X

  • Model X Long Range price reduced to $77,990 (from $79,990)
  • Model X Plaid price reduced to $92,990 (from $94,990)

Tesla Model Y:

  • Model Y RWD price reduced to $42,990 (from $43,990)
  • Model Y Long Range price reduced to $47,990 (from $48,990)
  • Model Y Performance price reduced to $51,490 (from $52,490)

Also, the Tesla Model Y is eligible for federal tax credit and it will enable the car to go down further with a $7,500 price reduction:

  • $35,490 for the RWD after federal tax
  • $40,490 for the Long Range after federal tax
  • $43,990 for the Performance after federal tax
