Tesla FSD 12.3.6

Tesla is sending full self-driving (FSD) supervised 12.3.6 with software update 2024.4.26. This software is currently limited to Tesla employees but will reach public users in the next few days.

Interestingly, this is the third FSD rollout of this month and the second within the last 10 days. The electric vehicle (EV) company previously released FSD (Supervised) 12.3.5 with build version 2024.3.20.

After internal testing, Tesla has been expanding 12.3.5 to public FSD subscribers since last week. Still, a large number of users have yet to receive this new FSD version.

These FSD rollouts come in waves under the safety procedures and are first received by internal testers. Ashok Elluswamy, Director of Tesla Autopilot Software recently said once the company has confidence in the latest FSD build, it gets a release for early testers, which includes 2,000 Tesla employees.

These employees provide valuable data and feedback to confirm whether the new version is ready for public rollout. Once decided, the software makes its way to public FSD users.

FSD Supervised can drive your Tesla automatically in traffic. It can change lanes, drive a car using navigation services and reach the destination, identify on-road objects, detect real-time hazards, and act accordingly.

Version 12 upgrades the city-streets driving stack to a single end-to-end neural network trained on millions of clips. It enables improved driving response and smoothes the overall experience. However, the FSD is not autonomous and a human must be available on the front seat to take the wheel when required.

The 12.3 series has brought new optimizations for the FSD users and the rapid rollout suggests that the company is preparing the system to release a 12.4 update.

There’s no additional information available for this FSD software but the company says it will be a major upgrade. There are several features such as summon that are currently mission. It is possible that the FSD 12.4 would accompany such features when it rolls out.
