Jeep Wagoneer S Electric

Jeep today announced that its new all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S will launch this fall and the company has shared the first teaser video to anticipate its unveiling. The video is themed “Surpass Yourself” for the first global battery electric vehicle for the US and Canada. It will be revealed on May 30, 2024 in New York.

The teaser compares the upcoming Wagoneer S with the Tesla Model Y Performance and shares some statics on screen-based on-road tests.

Wagoneer S offers 0-60 miles per hour (MPH) acceleration in 3.4 seconds. The car will come with 600 HP peak performance and 617 LB-FT torque. This new model will offer a 300-mile estimated driving range but the EPA range will be announced after release.

Tesla Model Y Performance on the other hand offers 279 miles of driving range, 155 mph top speed, and 0-60mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds.

The outcome of this comparison differs a bit and gives a lead to Wagoneer S. However, the main difference will be pricing. Usually, Jeep models come with a hefty price, and Model Y Performance stands at $51,490 with a $7,500 Federal tax credit, to reduce this price to $43,990.

What would be the price for a Jeep Wagoneer S Electric? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Design

The pre-production model has a wide LED bar on the front followed by slim headlights. It has front ducts to deflect air and a front bumper for better aerodynamics. However, the model shown in the video is a pre-production vehicle, which means there could be some new changes that might appear in the production unit. However, the car looks very ready for reveal event.
