SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket sends 23 Starlink satellites to orbit (August 2, 2024)

SpaceX Falcon 9 Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida

On August 2, 2024, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 23 Starlink satellites into orbit, initiating the first mission of August. The company lifted off the launch vehicle from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The company used the first launch window at midnight and ignited the engines to send the payload into space without worrying about the weather.

Footage posted on social media X shows the fledge thrust during the liftoff and how it went into the upper atmosphere. Next up the rocket performed stage separation and sent the first stage back to Earth.

The booster performed its final burn to land on a droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Now the first stage has completed its 12th flight and previously supported Crew-6, O3b mPOWER, USSF-124, and 8 Starlink missions.
