Automaker BMW is testing the Figure 2 robot at its manufacturing facility confirms a new introduction video of this new humanoid bot unveiled today.

The company revealed that Figure 2 is deployed at the BMW production line plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, performing AI data collection and use case training.

The video shows how the bot can conduct autonomous actions by placing an assembly part in its place. It demonstrates that the robot has self-correction learning behavior which means that it can correct the position or the placement of the object if it’s placed incorrectly.

Earlier this year, BMW and Figure announced a commercial agreement to deploy general-purpose robots into automotive production.

Under this partnership, both companies aim to achieve new capabilities in production and adapting to an industrial environment. These two companies will explore advanced technologies and joint development in AI, robot control, manufacturing virtualization, and robot integration.
