iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max to get slim body

Apple has a new slim model planned for next year, and its design will pave the way for iPhone 18 Pro models in 2027.

Mark Gurman said the iPhone 17 Slim will be released next year along with three other models – standard, Pro, and Pro Max. The company will replace the Plus variant with this new slim edition.

The iPhone 17 Slim will drastically cut width and weight compared to its counterparts. That makes the phone more aesthetic-friendly rather than performance-focused. Hence, Apple will only offer standard specifications with this new device.

Gurman mentioned the new variant is a teaser of what’s coming the following year. That means, the new design will also make its way to the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

The Cupertino-based tech company is experimenting with a dedicated slim device. It will take some time to bring those changes and feedback to improve this slim concept for the next-generation iPhones.

If the company wants to reduce the width, it will have to reinvent some parts such as charging and camera modules. All of these should be done while retaining the performance and quality. Compared to the iPhone 17 Slim, this task would be far more challenging in the 18 Pro and Pro Max due to high specifications.
