New Tesla Refer and Earn Program: Here’s everything you need to know

New Tesla Referral Program

Tesla has announced a new Refer and Earn Program and it is now available for existing owners and new buyers of the Tesla EVs and other products. However, you need to download the latest app version 4.36.1 or higher to participate in this program.

If you have credit from a previous Refer and Earn program, you can redeem those in the Tesla app until their expiration date.

Buyer Benefits

Customers can earn buyer benefits by making a purchase for a qualifying Tesla product using a referral link provided by a friend, family or a known person.

Buyer benefits are available for purchase on the first qualifying Tesla product. After purchasing a product, you can no longer be eligible, but you may still be able to earn referral and loyalty rewards.

Buyers will get $1,000 on the purchased product price. However, buyers can only receive benefits one time with the first purchase through a referral link.

Referrer Benefits

Existing Tesla owners can share a referral link with their friends or family to receive referrer benefits when they purchase a qualifying product for the first time using the referral link.

Once purchased, the referrer will see the reward in the app as “pending” with a grant date. These rewards will have an expiration date of 12 months after the grant date.

A referrer can receive $500 benefits up to 10 times a year using a referral link for customers making their first Tesla purchase.

Loyalty Benefits

If you own a Tesla product and choose to buy another, you will get an opportunity to claim loyalty benefits. You need to use the same account and order a new product.

Loyalty purchase benefits are available 10 times throughout the lifetime of your account for additional product purchases.

Eligibility

Refer and earn is only available on qualifying Tesla products including:

  • Model S
  • Model 3
  • Model X
  • Model Y

However, the loyalty program would expand to:

  • Cybertruck
  • Powerwall
  • Solar panels
  • Solar Roof

Reminder: You should know that the referral links won’t work after the order is placed and cannot be used on the same Tesla account if used more than once.
