General Motors (GM) has announced moving the BrightDrop electric commercial vans under the Chevrolet brand. The decision will allow BrightDrop to access a broad market, sales channels, and service dealer network.

These EVs are designed to offer 272 miles of combined city and highway range. BrightDrop vans will also expand Chevrolet’s EV portfolio with new models.

With this addition, Chevrolet dealers will be able to sell BrightDrop vans with certain EV requirements. Once certified, dealerships can service BrightDrop products and help optimize uptime for commercial fleet operators.

The brand was introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2021. In 2023, BrightDrop integrated into GM Evolve fleet business with existing commercial and government customers.

Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet said BrightDrop’s addition to Chevrolet will combine advanced EV technology and spread to the customers.

Afterward, the BrightDrop 400 and 600 will feature new technologies to improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and provide better service and delivery operations.

GM has confirmed that the BrightDrop electric vans will be produced at the CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario.
