Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has elaborated further on the topic of a large-size vehicle for big families with several kids and large luggage areas. Yesterday, a user complained on X that Tesla has no option for a large family that could house numerous kids, a dog, and luggage.

While picking this post, Musk replied “Ok”, suggesting that the company could bring an option to the table. However, he didn’t reveal anything specific about future plans.

Now, the Tesla chief has posted an extended comment in this conversation for a large-size vehicle. He wrote “Tesla Robovan is in development. Some other things too.”

Speaking of the former, Tesla unveiled this new Robovan vehicle at the We, Robot event on October 10. The vehicle doesn’t equip a steering wheel or paddle due to its autonomous driving platform. It can house at least 20 people.

However, it’s too large to own by a family and doesn’t make any sense compared to a large-size SUV available in the market, at least for now. Also, the Robovan will take years to make an on-road entrance.

Coming to the latter half of the comment, it suggest that Tesla may have some other solution for this user feedback. That includes a plan to produce a large-size crossover SUV or the expansion for an existing model.

The current Model Y only has seven seats max but this comes with a compromise for luggage area. Bringing a large-size vehicle will provide an auspicious option for customers.
