Tesla has officially announced new Model Y deliveries in China and customers have begun sharing pictures of their newly delivered EV with a ceremonial treatment.

Early in January, Tesla announced a refreshed Model Y in Asia with numerous new upgrades and better design compared to the existing model.

The current model on delivery is the Launch Series, a limited edition with free configurations and a higher price. It has two versions – Rear Wheel Drive and Long Range All Wheel Drive. These two are priced at 263,500 yuan and 303,500 yuan respectively.

Initially, the company had plans to mark the first deliveries in March but the start of mass production has allowed this vehicle to be delivered before the estimated dates. Besides these limited editions, Tesla will introduce regular models including RWD and Performance very soon.

The new Model Y brings a front redesign with a facelift and sleeker outlook thanks to the new lightbar. The headlights have been adjusted a few inches below the lightbar and the air vents are improved to pass more air through the wheels. Meanwhile, Tesla has optimized the wheels for more range efficiency, providing better control and a quiet ride experience.

The back side has a new cross-car lamp that reflects light on the TESLA branding. This new design makes the vehicle stand out over the previous version.

The interior has received an overhaul with new seat materials for extra comfort with added heating and ventilation. The cabin now includes ambient lighting through the rear doors and is customized with the front screen.

The sound experience has been boosted with more speakers and the microphone is near the occupant for a clear calling. The rear seats are also powered and support reclining with one tap of a button.
