New Model Y RWD and AWD launching tomorrow in Korea

Tesla has officially announced that the new Model Y will be available in rear wheel drive (RWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) variants in Korea, starting tomorrow.

A promo image posted online shows the word “D-1”, which indicates at the countdown, revealing that the new Model Y variants will be launched on April 2, 2025. However, the new variants aren’t clearly revealed in the caption.

It is confirmed that the new Model Y is eligible only for referrer benefits under the Refer and Earn program. Therefore, the buyer’s or loyalty reward will not be given in this regard, which is different from the US, where all parties involved get something on first purchase.

Currently, Tesla selling the Launch Series Model Y, a limited edition available on the configurator with an increased price with a couple of free add-ons.

The Launch Series is specially customized with characteristics such as extra badging. However, the car’s content will remain the same, including the new design excluding the free configurations.

However, the new Model Y RWD and AWD versions in Korea will have lower price compared to the Launch Series, which will interest more buyers. A few days ago, Tesla Korea started showcasing the new Model Y at different showroom locations to provide potential buyers an up — close look at the vehicle.
