Full Self Driving (FSD) is expected to bring a big change in the automotive industry and Tesla vehicles, in future, will use this technology to self-deliver themselves to customers without requiring them to go to store and take the delivery in person.

The EV make is preparing to rollout unsupervised FSD vehicles on the road by this summer and targeting ride hailing services. The services will debut in Texas in June and California later this year. The company also has plans to expand the service through all US states in the coming years.

FSD is an autonomous driving technology that could navigate the car on public roads and highways. It can respond to traffic lights, other vehicles, pedestrians, stop signs, incoming traffics and on-road objects. However, the current supervised version requires a driver on the front seat to monitor the car’s movements to take the control in uncertain scenarios.

Unlike supervised, the unsupervised version will drive itself without a human’s supervision. Using this technology for services such as home delivery won’t be a big task as it already conducting such tests at Giga Texas and Fremont Factory since early 2025.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, said that vehicles will start self-deliver services for new customers by this year. Still, the EV firm will have to clear regulatory approval to self-drive a car to a location, and it seems the self-deliver service will be limited to a few markets at the beginning.
