Upgraded Tesla Model 3 Highland

Tesla has published the Q2 2025 deliveries and production results, noting a big increase in quarterly sales but also a sharp decline compared to the same quarter in 2024.

The company posted 410,244 total vehicle production, including 396,835 Model 3 and Model Y. On the other hand, deliveries were 384,122 units of these two models, and 4% of which accounted for operating leases.

Other models in the lineup accounted for 13,409 units in production and 10,394 units in deliveries through this quarter. Overall, Tesla delivered 336,681 vehicles in Q2 2025. On the energy deployment segment, Tesla installed 9.6 GWh worth of energy storage products.

Quarterly comparison

In the first quarter, Tesla produced 362,615 vehicles and delivered 336,681 vehicles. That means the production is increased by 13.1% in the second quarter, and deliveries increased by 14.1% compared to the past quarter. Meanwhile, the energy storage product installation has seen a decline from 10.4GWh.

Q2 2025 vs Q2 2024

In the second quarter of 2024, the EV maker produced 410,831 vehicles, which is a decrease of 587 vehicles, around 0.14%, in the latest results. In the same quarter, Tesla accounted for 443,956 deliveries, 59,834 (around 13.5% ) more units than the Q2 of 2025. Marking a big decline in the year-over-year progress card. Notably, Tesla has posted slightly better energy storage deployment in Q2 compared to last year, which was 9.4 GWh.

The Q2 results are still better than the Q1, which includes many factors around Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, who has recently started giving more time to the company due to his exit from the Trump administration’s DOGE. Musk’s participation in DOGE is expected to be responsible for declining sales. However, quarterly recovery is also a good sign, which could even bring a better forecast for Q3.

Tesla will formally announce the financial results of the second quarter of 2025 on WEdnesday, July 23, 2025. The company will also host an earning call to address the earnings and take questions.
