Third Grok AI companion could ship next week

Elon Musk, xAI chief, has said that the third Grok companion could come as soon as next week, which is under development and testing internally.

Yesterday, Musk revealed Valentine as the name of the third Grok companion, and it will be a male character. He further revealed that the character was inspired by the protagonist from Stranger in a Strange Land, a famous novel by Robert A. Heinlein.

Grok’s companions feature enables users to conduct voice conversations with animated AI characters powered by Grok’s AI capabilities. The company initially introduced two models – Ani and Rudi, while Valentine is showing coming soon status.

Companions are available for Grok app users on iOS platform, recently, the company has opened the feature for testing for free users. However, a release on Android platform is still pending.
