Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of xAI, has announced that his AI company will launch a baby Grok AI app for Kids to offer some educational and entertainment features for this user base.

The Grok app offers a Kids mode, which filters content by restricting inappropriate or mature language and information. The Kids mode is available in the app settings. With one switch, parents can add this layer of safety. Additionally, the app has data controls for better control over data sharing.

However, Grok has been expanding more into the domain of mature audience, and the recent introduction of Grok companions has raised some questions. A few users reported that a female AI avatar, which is designed for mature voice and visual conversation, has appeared in Kids mode. However, this might be only one of the earliest glitch in the app after releasing the AI animated avatar feature. We’ve not noticed any such mistake in the latest version.

Grok app is currently rated 12+ on App Store, and requires users around this age to have parental or legal guardian permission. A dedicated app will allow xAI to take this rating down to the kids’ zone, and a controlled environment will gain parents’ trust and ensure children’s online safety.

That said, the baby Grok app can offer Good Rudi, a fluffy red panda designed for friendly and cute conversation, only for kids, while limiting Ani, Bad Rudi, and other upcoming mature content models in the main app.

For now, Musk hasn’t shared any specific details about the Grok kids app except for the purpose, but we’re likely to get some more details very soon.
